English title: Tommy's Inferno
Original title: Tommys Inferno
German title: Tommys Inferno
Norway, 2005

Director: Gyldenås, Ove Raymond
Production company: Friland AS
Co-producers: Fantefilm, Norsk filmstudio, Sandrew Metronome Norge AS
Age recommendation: 13 years and up

Synopsis:
Tommy is an altarboy by choice; his late father was a man of the cloth. But Tommy’s mother leads a rather more dissolute life. In other words, Tommy takes after his father. And if there is one moral principle he is prepared to defend above all, it is his determination not to succumb to peer pressure where his virginity is concerned – even though his girlfriend Maria is getting a little fed up with just snogging. Whereas Tommy’s best friend Ahmed has rebelled against his Moslem parents by aiming at being as promiscuous as possible, Tommy’s relationship with Maria is showing signs of strain because he is so straight-laced. When the frustrated Maria actually takes up with the school’s most popular boy, Tommy has to do all he can to win her back – and he goes through sheer hell. Debut director Ove Raymond Gyldenås’ fast-paced tragi-comedy shows how harsh reality tests youthful ideals to the utmost in a maelstrom of emotion.
