Synopsis:
Twelve-year-old Marie, a good student and a promising violonist, has a secret: she suffers from a degenerative eye disease... Even if she is still able to see well enough to live a fairly normal life, she knows that eventually she will have to live in the dark. Of course her parents know it too, and worry terribly about their daughter's future. Recently, though their daughter won't discuss it with them, they sense that her state has deteriorated. In the middle of the school year, they announce that they're going to take her out of school and board her at an Institute for the blind. Marie, however, has other plans. At the end of the year she fully intends to compete at the entrance exam for a prestigious music school. Going to the institute would blow her chances. As a result, Marie decides to hide the acceleration of her disease to her parents and school, but she knows she can't do it alone. Having noticed that Victor, the class dunce, has a crush on her, she uses the pretext of helping him with his homework to get him to help her. Little by little, at first unbeknownst to him and later willingly, Victor becomes Marie's eyes.
