His friend Hacke, also an orphan, lives in an old construction site caravan. When the two of them make an attempt to remove Hacke’s warts by magic in the cemetery one full moon, they witness a murder. Black-market dealer and petty criminal Ami-Joe stabs a boy simply because he insists on his share of the cigarette cartons they have swindled from someone. Tom and Hacke are terrified
and swear they will say nothing to anyone. But then Ami-Joe accuses the good-natured
wastepaper dealer Muffler, who is taken to court. Tom no longer knows what to do…
