Synopsis:
A magical plane helps a boy and his mother to get over the father's death.

Only one day before Christmas. As an airplane engineer who often has to travel, the young boy, Charly, eagerly awaits his father, believing he has brought him a new bicycle. Arriving very late in the evening, he wants to immediately open up his present, but is disappointed when he sees its „only“ a self-made model airplane. Shortly thereafter his father, who works in the French Air Force, dies in an accident. Unable to imagine that his father will never return, Charly begins to occupy himself with the model airplane given to him, making a surprising discovery – the plane flies as if guided by an invisible hand. It flies as if it were alive. Charly and the proto-type airplane become friends, and soon start playing out the most fantastic scenes together. Yet, once the father’s former colleagues find out about this magic, they relentlessly pursue Charly and his new flying friend, hoping they can discover within the airplane the results of important research which only Charly’s father knew about.
