Synopsis:
Evil Urfin lives in wonderland, far away from the dear little inhabitants. One day, in his garden, countless plants grow rampant and are difficult to manage. When Urfin burns the offshoots and drops the ash onto a carved wooden clown, the latter becomes alive. So does the bear skin; and a few ashes can even revitalise the antlers above the door. The clown comes up with the idea of creating soldiers with this magic powder. An entire army could help Urfin to conquer wonderland and Emerald City and call himself Urfin the Terrible. The former carpenter quickly sets to work, ceaselessly produces wooden soldiers and paints grim faces on them. Then the time has come. He conquers the city and imprisons its wise ruler Scarecrow together with his friend, the strong Tin Man. Now only Dorothy, the brave girl from Kansas, and her little dog Toto can help. As already described in the second part of the six-volume “Emerald City” series by Alexander Volkov, now Dorothy – like her grandmother many years before – will set off to wonderland by means of her silver shoes.
