Karlsson on the Roof
Original title: Karlsson på taket
German title: Karlsson vom Dach
Norway, 2002
Director: Idsøe, Vibeke
Production company: Filmkameratene AS
Co-producers: AB Svensk Filmindustri

Synopsis:
Animation based on Astrid Lindgren's book. The story takes place in Stockholm where PeeWee, a lonely 7 1/2 year old, lives with his family. His brother and sister are teenagers with their own lives and PeeWee feels he has nobody to play with. But one day - literally out of the blue - a chubby little man appears in his room. He introduces himself as the world's greatest Karlsson! He claims to be living on the roof and most fantastic of all, Karlsson has a propeller on his back and can actually fly around. Karlsson is soon written off as a figment of his imagination because he has the habit of disappearing when PeeWee wants to show him off to his family. But for PeeWee, Karlsson is very much alive. And despite Karlsson's selfcentred behaviour and faith in his own abilities, he brings excitement into PeeWee's world. (Norwegian Films 2001)
