Synopsis:
Tina and Cilla live in Piteå, Sweden. They are 14 years old, fumbling for a grown-up identity. The girls are identical twins by their looks but totally different in their behaviour. Tina only cares about good-looking boys, make-up, hair styling and clothes; she is falling in love weekly with a new boy. Cilla is fully devoted to the theatre group at school; she is the director and wants to make money to help the starving children in the third world. A local young man, Jasood, is composing the music for Cilla´s productions.

On their mother´s birthday, Cilla and Tina are late for the school bus; they rush out to catch it. The bus is just about to leave the stop and the girls dart across the street, Tina leading by a few steps. Behind Tina´s back, Cilla is hit by a car. She dies. Martin, the 18-year-old neighbour boy, was driving the car. He is also a friend of Jasood´s.

At this moment, half of Tina´s personality vanishes. Hour by hour, day by day, Tina is trying to get over the grief. Everything seems hopeless; even her mother and father break down. Jasood struggles to save his friend, Martin, who is desperate. Jasood composes two touching songs, one of them for Cilla´s funeral. The song becomes a national hit, and suddenly Cilla´s death turns into Jasood´s breakthrough!
