In 2020 BJF (Bundesverband Jugend und Film), one of ECFA’s long standing and loyal members, celebrated its 50th anniversary in several German festivals (Berlinale, LUCAS, Golden Sparrow). This celebration will have its apotheosis in two currently organised events: the Schlingel festival (10-17 October) and the Nordic Film Days (4-8 November).
This year the Int’l Women’s Film Festival in Dortmund & Cologne reduced its number of programmes, including in the young audience section, due to the pandemic. But the festival was brave enough to keep on the ECFA Short Film Award with an online jury. “Against all odds, the IFFF was the first film festival in our region that was cancelled, but it was also the first one to take place again.”

The 7th Kids Kino Dzieci Int’l Film Festival invited local audiences to screenings in Warsaw, Wrocław, Poznań and around 20 other cities in Poland. The festival’s ECFA Award went to FRITZI: A REVOLUTIONARY TAIL.

From 29 September – 2 October, the Kids Kino Industry Forum for films and TV series for young audiences took place online, coordinated from Warsaw. Kids Kino Industry is an international forum devoted to the co-production of films and TV series for young audiences.

This year’s 62nd edition of the Nordic Film Days Lübeck will be a hybrid of live screenings in the festival cinemas and online streaming, for the first time since the festival was launched in 1956, with great input from young people!
