On 10 December 2024, the Council of the Polish Film Institute approved the final shape of the Operational Programmes for 2025. We are happy to welcome the changes in PRIORITY VII: PRODUCTION OF FAMILY FILMS, which from now on also includes the production of documentaries. Karolina Smigiel (Andrzej Wajda Film Centre): “This is a huge step for the entire industry of documentary films aimed at young audiences, which has finally been acknowledged.”

SCHLINGEL will celebrate in the heart of the European Capital of Culture
The year 2025 has arrived, the year in which Chemnitz – together with 38 local communities in the region – will serve as the European Capital of Culture. On 18 January, the city officially kicked off the celebratory year under the motto ‘C the Unseen’. Culture enthusiasts can now look forward to over 150 projects and 1000 planned events in the entire Chemnitz region.

Swiss festivals join forces in Industry Forum
When festival partners in one country decide to partner up, it might boost the national effect. Switzerland has recently made a sound children’s film policy a working point, which is now reflecting itself in the festival landscape. Three Swiss festivals – the Castellinaria festival in Bellinzona, the Zoomz Festival in Lucerne and the Festival Jeune Public in Lausanne – have joined forces in the KIDS FILM FORUM.
