The 4th Athens Int’l Children’s Film Festival (ATHICFF) celebrated its triumphant return to physical venues with an expanded programme of over 120 films screening (13-21 November) across 4 venues in Athens. Among the 13 feature films was THE APE STAR, the first feature film dubbed in Greek by the festival, in collaboration with the Swedish Embassy.

The ECFA Jury at the Just Film Children & Youth Film Festival in Tallinn awarded the film with the undoubtedly best title of the year: MY DAD IS A SAUSAGE (by Anouk Fortunier, Belgium).
“Although the film is set in another country, and one of the characters is a dragon, it is, actually, a story about what is happening here and now,” said the Main Jury of the Polish Kids Kino Festival about the film DRAGON GIRL. The ECFA Jury chose the same film, with a similar justification.

Fest of Fests, an Athens-based network for Youth Film Festivals, Film Education Organizations, and Film content-related Institutions from all over the world, launches a new project. The digital KIDS for KIDS is a service addressing children who are into filmmaking. This service will present audiovisual content made by children and will organize an annual award and a Summer Youth Film School. In the run-up to the implementation of this service, now three inquisitive webinars are organised.

This year Kids Kino Industry and Cinekid for Professionals joined forces to launch Producers LINK, a newly established programme for emerging producers of children’s content. The programme is designed to stimulate the production of top-quality children’s content and pan-European co-productions, and will provide follow-up both during and after the two leading kids events in Autumn.
The Zlin Film Festival, looking back upon its successful 61st edition, is one of those festivals helping ECFA to further establish the ECFA Doc Award. The ECFA Jury’s choice fell on KIDS CUP, a feature length young audience documentary by Line Hatland.
