ECFA Awards for QUEEN OF NIENDORF and SUPA MODO
QUEEN OF NIENDORF was the winner of the ECFA Award 2018 at the Ciné-Jeune Festival in the French L’Aisne region. In this German film, by Joya Thome, 10-year-old Lea witnesses how her friends, over the course of one summer, all change into surrogate grown-ups. Fest of Fests is a cultural network funded by the Region of Attica, Greece, and implemented by the Athens-based Michael Cacoyannis Foundation. Aspiring to involve all influential international children and youth film networks, festivals and educational organisations as well as the academic world, the aim of Fest of Fests is to become a community of practice, collaboration of innovative ideas, supporting the formation of ‘screenwise viewers’ through existing pathways regarding media literacy. First ECFA Short Award in Oberhausen
ECFA’s first Short Film Award was handed out at the Oberhausen Int. Short Film Festival to LISTEN, a short documentary by Dutch director Astrid Bussink about the Kindertelefoon (Dutch children’s telephone helpline).
