The Russian ‘KinoOstrov’ film festival (June 1-18th) celebrated 9 years of children cinema in Saint Petersburg, under this year’s moto “Point on the map”. Among many other titles, more than 30 international films were screened in the new “Cinemaland” programme, with an opening and closing ceremony in the famous ‘Rodina’ cinema, long-time partner of the KinoOstrov Festival.
Besides a film festival, KinoOstrov also stands for cinema camps in summer, that are currently taking place for Russian children as well as international guests. On the programme are workshops in all main cinema professions, like acting, directing, screenplay writing, make-up, cinema photography and even the basic principles of stunt performance. Therefor KinoOstrov can count on the cooperation of many cinema professionals, like producers, directors and actors, some of them being former summer camp participants themselves.
Please remember…. the KinoOstrov team is always open for new projects, in the light of national or international cooperation.
