Get stuck at the Young Film Fest

The international Young Film Fest in Prague is offering young audiences opportunities to take a look into the world of cinema, to get creative and to express their own views. Each participant is a juror, selecting his favourite European title that didn’t get a Czech cinema release.

The 4th Young Film Fest will take place on April 24th – 26th 2020. Besides film screenings, the festival organises a series of workshops on topics ranging from architecture to sound and editing.

– On April 24th, the festival is open to a general public of European film enthusiasts. In addition to a TV series marathon and a Short Film Competition, there is an opportunity to take a stroll through the visual smog of Prague.

– April 25th is set for 15–17 year olds, 50 jurors will pick the best title from three screenings.

– April 26th is devoted to 12-14 year olds participating in EFA’s Young Audience Award. With Prague and Brno both signing up for the event, the Young Film Fest will coordinate the screenings and voting in both Czech cities.

The Young Film Fest is now ready to drastically expand its activities. The first Young Film Camp for teenagers is scheduled in August 2020, with ‘manipulation’ in all its forms as the main theme. In autumn 2020, Young Film Fest will travel to Slovakia, where workshops will be held for youngsters in different age groups between 12–17 years. All this fits to the general aim of the festival: creating international sections in which students can interconnect.
