Since 2004, the prestigious Frankfurter Buchmesse (October 10-14th) annually honours outstanding literary adaptions for the big screen with the Frankfurter Buchmesse Film Awards. QUEEN OF NIENDORF was the winner of the ECFA Award 2018 at the Ciné-Jeune Festival in the French L’Aisne region. In this German film, by Joya Thome, 10-year-old Lea witnesses how her friends, over the course of one summer, all change into surrogate grown-ups.
