For the first time, the BAB Festival (Biennial of Animation, Bratislava) presented an ECFA Short Award.
In 2018 BAB reached out across the entire country, with competitive and non-competitive festival screenings, workshops and exhibitions in all Slovak regions, and with an award handed out by the ECFA jury to THE HEDGEHOG’S HOME, a Croatian-Canadian short by Eva Cvijanovic.
In a forest, a gentle hedgehog is respected by all other animals, except a quartet of bullies, making fun of his domesticity. Because, for a hedgehog there truly is ‘no place like home’. Based on a classic story by Branko Ćopić.
The ECFA Jury were Per Eriksson (Sweden), Janne Korsumaki (Finland) and Maria Kralovic (Slovakia), who thank the BAB Festival for its true commitment to the art of short film.
