The European Film Academy (EFA) has announced the nominees for the 6th EFA Young Audience Award 2017.
Titles competing are GOODBYE BERLIN (Germany, by Fatih Akin), MY LIFE AS A ZUCCHINI (Suisse – French animated movie by Claude Barras) and THE GIRL DOWN LOCH ÄNZI (Suisse documentary by Alice Schmid). Members of the international preselection committee were Michael Habauer (Sächsischer Kinder- und Jugendfilmdienst, Germany), Selma Mehadžić (Zagreb Film Festival, Croatia), Marta Nieto Postigo (Drac Màgic, Spain), Hilde Steenssens (FilemOn, Belgium) and Illia Dyadik (Children KinoFest, Ukraine). With 4 members taking part in the decision, ECFA was largely represented in the committee. We thank EFA for its trust and fine cooperation.

On Young Audience Film Day on 7 May, the three nominated films will be simultaneously screened to audiences in 36 cities, from Tallinn to Tel Aviv, from Valletta to Podgorica making it a record number. There, the young audiences will act as a jury and cast their votes. National results will then be transmitted live to Erfurt (Germany) where the winner will be announced in an award ceremony streamed live on yaa.europeanfilmawards.eu.

The EFA Young Audience Award is organised by the European Film Academy and EFA Productions with the support of the Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung (MDM). Find all info here
