MARONA wins ECFA Award in LUCAS Festival

MARONA wins the ECFA Award at the LUCAS Int’l Festival in Frankfurt, Germany.

 

 

 

 

 

MARONA (Anca Damian, Romania/France) tells about an adorable street dog, in her final moments, she reflects on her life, on the cute puppy she once was and on all the people she loved unconditionally. Like the little girl who promised to always be there for her. The film also won the Best Feature Award in the 8+ Section. This year’s edition of LUCAS took place both in the cinema and online.

The ECFA Jury were Barbara Jurgens (the Netherlands, author), Monika Pindziak-Dutkiewicz (Poland, festival programmer) and Sérgio Marques (Portugal, cinema curator).

 

Other award winning titles were DAYS OF THE BAGNOLD SUMMER (Simon Bird, UK – Best Feature 13+), ECSTASY (Moara Passoni, Brazil – LUCAS Youngsters Award 16+) and ANTIGONE (Sophie Deraspe, Canada – Bridging the Borders Award and Audience Award).
