Lux Film Fest walks in footsteps of refugees

With SHADOW GAME a unique film was awarded by the Young People’s Jury in this year’s Lux Film Fest, Luxemburg.

Over three years directors Eefje Blankevoort & Els van Driel (the Netherlands) followed young refugees on their journey through Europe, where they encounter snowy terrains, minefields, and aggressive border police. SHADOW GAME is a turbulent, adventurous coming-of-age story, with courageous teens as our guides. Their experiences merge into a universal story about overcoming obstacles to find a new home.

With WHERE IS ANNE FRANK (Ari Folman, the Netherlands/Belgium) the School Jury’s choice addressed a similar topic, though placed in a different time frame. The Children’s Jury awarded NELLY RAPP – MONSTER AGENT by Amanda Adolfsson (Sweden), a celebration of all things scary and spooky.
