Kids Kino.Lab is an international script development trajectory for feature films and TV series for young audiences, initiated by the Polish New Horizons association. During a 10 month process, teams (script writer & producer) from different countries meet in workshops to fine tune their script and production package in consultation with experienced tutors.

Switzerland adds children’s film festivals to festival list

The Federal Office for Culture, one of the major Swiss film funders, recently added several specialised children’s film festivals to its list that serves every year as the basis for the national performance-based funding scheme ‘Succès Festival’. Among them are two well-known ECFA members, Cinekid and the Zlín Int’l Film Festival. Never before had a children’s film festival been included on that market-leading list.

ECFA discussion panel in Tallinn on November 26th

Are any topics off limits in youth films?

Tallinn Black Nights’ biggest sub festival, the Youth & Children’s Film Festival Just Film is celebrating its 20th edition. Additionally to the cinema and online screenings and a Work in Progress presentation, on November 26th the festival presents a virtual discussion panel about boundaries for young audiences on the cinema screen. Which content do we choose to show them, should it be regulated, and if so, by whom? The panel goes live via the Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event online platform.
