Synopsis:
A different kind of father-daughter film about a young director’s attempts to get her criminal dad into rehab. The only way to tackle his chaotic life is with a large dose of dark humour.
Sofia is a young, newly-graduated filmmaker living in Oslo with her boyfriend and dogs, Shaggy and Dixie. She is a lot like her dad. They have the same humour, the same glint in their eyes, and sometimes the same temperament. But his temper turned violent, so from the age of ten Sofia and her mother lived at a secret address. Now, as an adult, Sofia is in touch with her dad again. He still lives a life shaped by addiction and crime, spending more time in prison than out of it. His greatest sorrow is that he lost Sofia. Sofia’s dawning hope is that she can help him on his feet so that he can be a father again. Together, with humour and warmth, they battle for their relationship against addiction, and sometimes again the system that is meant to help them.
