Synopsis:
Mother Frieda only just manages to make ends meet to keep herself and daughters Patty, Selma and Lilo. She inherited the snack bar “Freys Feyner Imbiss”, well-known all over Duisburg, from her father along with his secret recipe for a popular curry sauce. But the snack bar hasn’t been doing so well since a lot of factories in the area were closed down. Frieda simply doesn’t know what to do. So it is no wonder that one day she collapses and her doctor sends her away to recuperate. Now the three sisters have to run the snack bar somehow. However, Patty dreams of becoming a famous star cook, and she truants from school and secretly does work experience in Norton Jersey’s star restaurant. Meanwhile, Selma and Lilo want to take part in a competition for catering at the new football stadium and save the family business that way. Then something truly awful happens: a faulty chip pan catches fire and the snack bar begins to burn. It seems no amount of good advice can help…
