Zagreb welcomes KinoKino

The third edition of KinoKino Int. Film Festival for Children (February 14-18th) will take place in Zagreb’s Europa Cinema, aiming to create a special, entirely different movie-going event for the youngest audiences.

Several program sections will include around 30 films, including film classics. Next to a jury of professionals, the ‘best in show’ decisions will also be made by a jury of children and by the audience, voting for the audience award. The competition programme includes the latest adaptation of Erich Kästner’s novel LOTTIE AND LISE, LE COEUR EN BRAILLE by Michel Boujenah, BAD LUCKY GOAT, an exotic Columbian piece by Samir Oliveros, and UP IN THE SKY by Petter Lennstrand. The section Classics with Guests will show the iconic masterpiece MON ONCLE by French comedian Jacques Tati, selected for screening by the Sarajevo-based actor and this year’s KinoKino jury member Moamer Kasumović.

For the third year, the festival hosts First Time at the Cinema, a section of films for preschoolers. Among a series of workshops there are sessions for children, such as My First Film Review, as for teachers (‘Screen to Classroom: Short Film teacher Training Workshop’). In association with the award-winning design studio Šesnić&Turković, a film poster design workshop will be organised, working on a poster for this year’s festival edition.

KinoKino Festival was launched by the creative team of the Zagreb Film Festival.
