Besides screening a festival programme containing more than 160 titles the Schlingel Int. Film Festival for Children & Young Audience, currently taking place in Chemnitz, also takes a pioneer’s position in organising the first Schlingel Industry Forum on 28 & 29 September.
This meeting point for the international children & youth film scene combines panel discussions and face-to-face talks with presentations of films on the horizon.
Topics under discussion are all related to current developments in the children & youth film sector: the future of life action cinema in balance with the position of animation films, options for funding international co-productions and the digitalisation of the audio-visual heritage.
The Films on the Horizon section seems to be the ultimate place for discovering all German fairy-tales-in-the-making with THE LITTLE WITCH (Michael Schaerer), RÜBEZAHLS SCHATZ (Stefan Bühling) and THE SORCERER’S APPRENTICE (Frank Stoye), among several other projects in development.
