The Children’s & Youth Cinema at the 67th Int’l Short Film Festival Oberhausen goes online again. Crowded screenings, the opportunity for kids to watch shorts from across the globe together and talk to filmmakers are essential to the festival. The Schlingel team is optimistic about organising the festival’s 2021 edition (9–16 October). “I don’t think things can get worse than it was in 2020, and still we reached out to 13,000 viewers. Since we managed to do it once, we can do it again,” says festival director Michael Harbauer.

This year, the Cinema in Sneakers festival in Warsaw will run in two sections: a short (19 April – 30 May) and a feature film (from 24 May – 24 June) festival. But there’s a bigger plan too … a selection of films exploring the urban jungle. “With these films we want to inspire you to stimulate your imagination and to think critically about your surroundings.”
