One World in Schools is an educational festival programme that helps young people to make a difference through documentaries about human rights.
The film festival One World in Prague (21-31 March, organised by People in Need) addresses elementary and high school audiences through documentary films, focussing on topics like human rights, environment, civic engagement, globalisation, ethnic hatred, violence etc. “The response from students and teachers confirms our belief that documentary films have an extraordinary potential to raise questions among young people, that lead towards the formation of one’s own opinions and attitudes,” says Klára Bílková.
“We provide audio-visual courses and methodological materials, made available through our website. We place special emphasis on the practical applicability of our materials, that are consequently all produced in cooperation with teachers.” The films are distributed and streamed to registered schools in Czech Republic, free-of-charge for teachers and students.
