NEW MEMBER: SMILE INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL

The SIFFCY Film Festival & Forum (Smile Int. Film Festival for Children & Youth) is scheduled from 11-17 December 2017 in the Sirifort Auditorium, New Delhi, India. With an objective to sensitise children and youth through meaningful films and film-related activities. This week-long festival caters to the age group 6-25 years with more than 120 films and workshops.

The festival is going to treat the audience with recent quality titles, with a special focus on Dutch cinema. International workshops on filmmaking, cinematography, art design, photography, storytelling and sand animation etc. are key elements of this year’s program. “Apart from several workshops for children we are also going to host the Life Skill training programme for parents and academicians this time, so that they shall be sensitised to protect the key interests of children, with respect to their better future” says Jitendra Mishra, director of the SIFFCY festival.

Organisers of the festival are the ‘Smile Foundation’, one of the leading development organisations in India, directly supporting more than 400,000 children and their families in terms of education, healthcare and livelihood. Jitendra Mishra: “We’re planning to take this festival to other parts of the country and have a target of reaching out to 1 million children and youngsters in the coming year.
