Kids Kino Docs new development programme

Right after the 2022 edition of the Kids Kino Lab’s successful start, the organising New Horizons Association, in co-operation with the South Norwegian Film Centre, launched a new programme: Kids Kino Docs. The call for projects for the first edition is open!

The Kids Kino Docs programme addresses filmmakers from Poland and Norway who want to make documentary films and series for young audiences. Two calls for projects for the new programme will be organised in 2022. Each of them will result in 6 projects selected to be taken on a 15 month long workshop trajectory. Among the topics covered there will be legal and financial issues, how to work with children, techniques for interviewing young protagonists etc. Additional plans include online consultations supervised by the leading tutors, Kirsten Bonnén Rask and Paweł Ziemilski, and international guest experts. The aim for the participants is to end the programme with a well-developed story, some footage already shot, and the first steps taken in the editing process.

The programme is intended for filmmakers from Poland and Norway, working on a short, mid-length or feature-length documentary film or series. The first call for projects has its deadline on 7.02.2022.

Meanwhile the new Kids Kino Lab edition is in full swing. After the online opening sessions, the 13(!) participating projects-in-the-making will soon travel to the JEF festival (Antwerp) and the Zlin Film Festival. You can check which renowned names are among this year’s participants.
