The Budapest Children’s Film Academy proudly states: from 2018 onwards Hungary will have an International Children’s Film Festival! It’s called Cinemira! And soon it will celebrate its first edition.
The Cinemira Children’s Film Festival (for children aged 4-14) takes place in the centre of Budapest at the Akvárium Klub – a place with a special atmosphere; with a pool on top, beautifully reflected inside the building. Especially in springtime, when the festival runs from 6-8th April!
The festival’s main mission: to revive children’s film in Hungary and show a local audience the beautiful films that are made for children’s and youth around the world, even in neighbouring countries. Behind the festival is the Children’s Film Academy, a year long provider of workshops for children in the areas of film, television and new media.
On the festival programme: competitive sections for short animations, documentaries, live action films, and a competition for films made by children. Workshops are dealing with animation, cartoons, live action, VR, and even special effects, having the children working with green screen or celluloid. Within the framework of the festival will be a first script pitch forum for children’s film in Hungary, and a market for books, comics, posters etc… related to children’s film.
ECFA wishes the Cinemira festival a wonderful first edition and a successful future.
