Film Exposure beyond Taiwan International Children’s Film Festival

What happens during the Festival, should not simply stay in the Festival. Taiwan International Children’s Film Festival (TICFF) aspires to broaden the journey by reaching out to the public through extended showcases and on-demand streaming service. TICFF is now open for submissions!

TICFF was initiated by Public Television Service (PTS Taiwan) in 2004. Held biennially, it is the first and largest film and television festival in Asia dedicated entirely to children aged 12 and under, displays quality children’s programming from around the world.

Stepping into the 9th edition, TICFF develops a series of activities to expand the exposure of selected films. In cooperation with city governments, our post-festival tour takes place in different cities throughout the country. Other than extending the festival, TICFF takes up the trend of online streaming and establishes an “online family cinema” on “PTS+”, the OTT platform launched by Taiwan Public Television Service (PTS). In the Festival’s “offline” and “online” events, TICFF aims to create more opportunities allowing kids throughout the country to engage in the experience.

With the 9th edition scheduled to take place in early April 2020, TICFF is now open for submissions, offering cash prizes up to USD25,000 in total. The competition attracts global filmmakers and production houses. In 2018, over 1,000 entries from 101 countries were submitted to TICFF.

As each Festival’s young viewer grows up with the memories from the experience, TICFF grows with them. Their participation contributes to TICFF enhancing the quality of future events, in order to develop more exciting possibilities for the young generation.
