In the BUFF Int’l Children & Young People’s Film Festival in Malmö, Sweden, six films competed for the ECFA Award. Again, SISTERS took home the prize.
In the film by Silje Salomonsen & Arild Østin Ommundsen, Vega and her sister Billie are on a camping trip with their father in the Norwegian wilderness. Until dad falls down a rock crevice and sprains his ankle. Setting out for help, Vega and Billie need to be brave, bold, and discover their superpowers.
BUFF might be the only children’s film festival handing out a prize for Best Comedy, for a film that “contributes to more children’s laughter around the world”. The award went to THE FANTASTIC JOURNEY OF MARGOT & MARGUERITE (Pierre Coré, France).
The ECFA Jury were Ekaterina Bordacheva (Russia), Calliope Charalambous (Greece) and Mariella Harpelunde Jensen (Denmark).
