“SIFFCY supports good cinema for the benefit of children and youth and provides healthy entertainment. We at Smile Foundation are glad to have nurtured such a platform to bring quality films from across the globe. Good cinema can help us build an empathetic society and a better planet,” says founder of the Foundation and Chairman of the festival Santanu Mishra.
The 9th edition of the one of a kind film festival – SIFFCY has been scheduled from 17-23 April 2023 in New Delhi. Considering the practical situation and requirements the festival will be organised in a hybrid model; the extravagant on ground activities will be hosted at the iconic Sirifort auditorium like every year, while the festival will simulcast parallel across India through a dedicated online platform. “The objective is to reach out to a larger audience across the country with the same content and same energy,” adds Jitendra Mishra, director of the Smile Int’l Film Festival.
The film programme will consist of more than 100 handpicked films in various genres in different competitive and non-competitive sections. Over 20 awards including the prestigious ECFA Award, CIFEJ Prize and Film Critic Circle of India Award will be given. The special curation of multiple award winning German films with the support of Schlingel Int’l film festival, Czech Films in collaboration with Zlin Fest and Japanese films in association with KINEKO will be a part of the Country Focus section this year.
