In May 2022, European MEDIA funds approved the international Film in Hospital project for two more years. Film in Hospital can now keep striving to grant ill children in hospitals and revalidation centres access to exclusive, festival-quality films and educational materials.

The International. Children’s Film Festival Kristiansand in Norway was handing out two ECFA Awards, one for BUSTER’S WORLD and one for SHABU.
One of the characteristics of KINEKO (Tokyo) is how the festival turns the entire city into a movie theatre: the Teen section was screened at a café and studio in a shopping street, the Kineko Marche took over the Central Square, there were street performance and a Street Piano Event… The most peculiar location was the iTSCOME Studio & Hall, turned into a dream theatre with fluffy cushions and sofas for families to watch films.
The Children’s and Youth Film Competition is one of the most popular sections of the International Kurzfilmtage in Oberhausen. It was this festival that took the initiative for the ECFA Short Award a few years ago, and they still lead the way in awarding prizes until today. Like this year for the Belgian short film CHANNIDAE by Pauline Morel.
The Industry Days serve as a perfect platform for the Zlin Film Festival to update on current film production in the Czech Republic and neighbouring countries. This programme for professionals includes the Central European Children’s Film CoProduction Forum and the Kids Kino Lab as some of its most significant elements.

When finally the door of the cage remains ajar, Kiki discovers the great outdoors in which he must know how to fly. Being a free bird might be a bit scary after all.
The Cactus International Children’s & Youth Film Festival in Aosta, Italy, has handed out its first ECFA Short Award. The prize went to the French short THE RIGHT WORDS (HAUT LES COEURS, Adrian Moyse Dullin).
The 8th edition of SIFFCY – Smile Int’l Film Festival for Children & Youth – this year came with more titles, more renown jury members and an interesting ECFA Award winner: THE CLUB OF UGLY CHILDREN (Jonathan Elbers, the Netherlands).
