New Dutch Film consultant Signe Zeilich-Jensen

Signe Zeilich-Jensen is the new Film Consultant Children & Family Film at the Dutch Film Fund. As the successor of Monique Ruinen, in January she started her 4 year tenure. During that term, she’ll be responsible for advising the Dutch Film Fund about children, youth and family film applications for ‘selective support’ in various stages of development.

Which personal emphasises is Signe Zeilich-Jensen hoping to add to the job? “Of course I’m depending upon the incoming applications. But I know what I’ll strive for: diversity (which is one of the priority’s in the Fund’s current policy), contemporary stories, and besides the applications for adapting successful books, I’m equally hoping for more new, original scripts. To my delight, a new start has been announced for the ‘Cinema Junior’ production line (through which Dutch broadcasters boosted the national children’s film production years ago). I’ll promote projects in coproduction (regarding my roots, I have an eye on Scandinavia, and we already had a fruitful tradition in cooperating with the Mitteldeutsche Medienförderung) and it might be time to finally put The Netherlands on the map again in the field of feature animation films.”
