Many things going on in Warsaw… like the Kids Kino Int’l Film Festival

The 7th Kids Kino Dzieci Int’l Film Festival invited local audiences to screenings in Warsaw, Wrocław, Poznań and around 20 other cities in Poland. The festival’s ECFA Award went to FRITZI: A REVOLUTIONARY TAIL.

The experience of the past months has made us appreciate the festival even more – the opportunity to meet and share film impressions is invaluable.” The festival even enlarged its young audience programme with two new sections: European Documentary Films and Kids Kino on Upbringing (films for adult audiences selected for their educational values helping to build parenting competencies).

The award from the ECFA jury went to FRITZI: A REVOLUTIONARY TALE (by Matthias Bruhn, Germany), “a well done animation with a unique visual style. Looking through the eyes of a girl makes the audience understand a difficult episode in recent history, full of political changes. This tale evokes the strong message that friendship will not be held back by any barriers.“

The ECFA Jury were Marta Kraus (Kinolub, Poland), Johannes Lõhmus (Estonian Film Institute) and Judita Soukupová (Juniorfest, Czech Republic).

The ‘Fern Flower’ Audience Award went to ELLA BELLA BINGO, by Frank Mosvold (Norway).
