FIFEM (Montréal) honours Ringer Brothers

As discreet as the brothers Yves and Olivier Ringer are, the more esteem their films gained in the international children’s film scene.

Their three young audience films gathered awards in festivals across the globe, two of them were selected for the Berlinale’s Generation+ section, they both won an ECFA Award and were listed by Cinekid and Dutch broadcaster VPRO among the “100 children’s films every child should have seen”. Now the Ringer Brothers will have a retrospective at the FIFEM Festival in Montréal.

On the FIFEM programme (2-10th March) are POM LE POULAIN, ON THE SLY and BIRDS OF PASSAGE. As FIFEM states: “These are films without computer graphics or special effects, without superheroes or supervillains, but they’re firmly rooted in daily reality, addressing both children and grown-ups. These strong stories guarantee the audience a positive and long-lasting emotional journey.
