Cineteca di Bologna launches virtual Cineclub

In the city of Bologna, children’s cinema is always on the programme, year round. Every weekend the Cineteca di Bologna’s educational department Schermi e Lavagne is dedicating a special programme to the young audience in the Cinema Lumière. But now that cinemas have been closed since March, new opportunities had to be created.

Like the Cineteca’s ‘viewing advice’ enabling young cinephiles  and their families to launch virtual Cineclubs in their homes. Elisa Giovannelli (Schermi e Lavagne): “We are waiting to meet our audience again soon to watch films together on the big screen. But in the meantime, let’s watch some beautiful movies online! For our Cineclubs we are using online platforms, offering quality shorts and features. To accompany these titles we created a series of activity sheets. For instance, a board game was created for O MENINO E O MUNDO, MINUSCULE was the perfect occasion for creating an “entomologist sketchbook“.… A total of 25 activity sheets have been produced. People use them intensively to broaden and enrich their home cinema experience.”
