THE SECRET DELIVERY finds suitable international premiere

THE SECRET DELIVERY chose its international premiere with care. This World War II winter adventure, directed by Ján Sebechlebský, will soon be presented to families and festival audiences during the Kids Screenings at the prestigious Locarno International Film Festival.

The Locarno Film Festival was founded in 1946. In the aftermath of World War II, the festival offered a stage for revival, freedom of art and expression for talents from all over the world, and the festival continues doing so till now.

One popular festival section is the Locarno Kids Screenings, where THE SECRET DELIVERY will be presented. With a story about war, the drive for freedom, and the perseverance of children, the film is perfectly placed here. It tells of a group of children who try to keep a war victim – a downed French pilot – out of the hands of the German occupying forces. The pilot is passed between mountain villages like a secret message, while the young rescuers are being chased by German soldiers.

Furthermore, the Locarno Kids Screenings – “a selection devoted to younger audiences, a journey of cinematic initiation through films intended for their age group” – presents several new animated titles, like ARCO (by Ugo Bienvenu, France), OLIVIA AND THE INVISIBLE EARTHQUAKE (by Irene Iborra Rizo, Belgium / Chile), and MARY ANNING, CHASSEUSE DE FOSSILES (by Marcel Barelli, Italy). And with FANTASTIQUE, directed by Marjolijn Prins, there is the premiere of an impressive Belgian documentary to look forward to.
