Ket & Doc has become a well-known phenomenon: a new batch of five (only four, from next year) Belgian short documentaries for young audiences every year, made with the support of public broadcaster Ketnet and the Flemish Audiovisual Fund. 2025 guarantees a new crop that has just premiered at the Youth Film Festival Antwerp in the presence of all directors and protagonists.
Ket & Doc continues to evolve year after year in style and form, but with the familiar result: a fine package of five films that live a life both separately and together. This year’s new titles are:

– WHEELIE BOYS (Aisha Adepoju): Cycling on one wheel, three friends prepare for a new phase of life: the transition to high school.
– BRAINBEATS (Silke De Vos): Together with his grandfather, who is suffering from dementia, Boris creates a DJ track that will connect them forever.
– ELOISE’S SUMMER (Lize Cuveele): A nine-year-old girl embarks on a journey of discovery and acceptance of her Cameroonian roots and her curly hair.
– JUST JOOLS (Ezra Verbist): Jools dreams of dancing without shame, which she might achieve with the help of a choreographer who teaches her to ignore the gaze of others.

– DRY SHEETS: Three kids have a secret; they still wet the bed occasionally. By the end of summer, they hope to sleep dry.
During the Youth Film Festival, a new generation of Ket & Doc directors pitched their ideas to a panel of kids. Filming will soon start, so that next year this Belgian documentary tradition can be continued.
