MY LABEL wins first Budapest ECFA Award

For the first time an ECFA Short Award was presented at the International Children’s Film Festival Cinemira in Budapest, Hungary. )

Over three days in April, this new and dynamic festival directed by Nora Lakos for the Budapest Children’s Film Academy screens feature and (mainly) short films in three categories: animation, live action and documentary, for an audience aged 4–16 years.

This year’s second edition was the first one that came with an ECFA Award, which was won by the Belgian short MY LABEL by Janne Janssens. The film tells about Guus, wearing “a label”. He is being bullied at school and feels alone. One day, a girl comes to sit next to him, and entrusts him with her secret.

The ECFA Jury were Erik Thyman (Netherlands), Judita Soukopova (Czech Republic) and Felix Vanginderhuysen (Belgium).
