In the framework of the upcoming Industry Days (21-22 November), Just Film in Tallinn throws a puzzling question on the table. How can European cinema capture the attention of Gen Z?
This industry session is the result of a research project, conducted in cooperation with the Baltic Film, Media and Arts School, in which the patterns and preferences of next-gen viewership have been explored. In this session, students from eight FilmEU universities, alongside filmmakers and industry experts, will present fresh insights into the viewing habits of young adults. Just Film: “We will reveal key research findings and showcase creative marketing strategies designed to attract young audiences to European films and festivals. Hopefully the results will offer an insight into practical, innovative ways to connect with Gen Z and make European cinema a must-experience for the next generation.”
Just Film is fully committed to their industry profile. A key support should come from a three-year partnership with KIDS Regio, to create the ground for new networking opportunities and find ways to bring children and youth filmmakers together. Like in the newest event format: “The Fuck Up Night”, where failures meet solutions, emphasizing the importance of learning from mistakes and moving forward wiser. Because what connects people more than seeing others fail, too!?
