Aya Films’ recently developed training tool Curate-It makes information about film curation accessible in a digital space. Curate-It provides participants with all they need to know for implementing their own screening event. It is structured as an eight-step programme to teach participants about film theory, film curation and the practical and logistical elements needed to create film events.

For the 40th anniversary of “Sweden’s leading film festival for young audiences” BUFF (11-17 March) is bringing the world’s best films (121 in total!) to the cinemas in Malmö. And it’s not only about films, it’s also about people! That is why the festival offers free accreditation to ECFA members!
After biding time in the pandemic fridge, the Workshop Warehouse event should be ECFA’s piece de resistance in 2023. The event, organised in cooperation with Cinema Ritrovato, will take place from 30 June – 2 July in Bologna. The Workshop Warehouse will host 10 workshops and around 50 active participants.

Ready for a final sprint to the finish? With 29 films nominated in 3 categories, it now comes down to the votes of ECFA members to decide who will be the winners of the ECFA Awards 2023. Results will be announced on 18 February 2023 during the Berlinale. The overview of nominated titles reads like a compilation of the very best that European children’s & youth cinema had to offer last year.
The 25th Olympia Int’l Film Festival for Children & Young People (in Pyrgos, Amaliada and other Greek towns) returned with a full-blown physical edition, running with the 22nd European Meeting of Youth Audiovisual Creation “Camera Zizanio”. A week full of full-house screenings (120 in total), accompanied by workshops and activities for cinema professionals. Among them was the 5th Olympia “Creative Ideas” Pitching Lab Presentation.

ECFA members are invited to the Annual General Meeting of ECFA on Saturday 18 February, 2023 at 15.30 in Berlin. Members will meet and mingle at the Vertretung des Freistaates Sachsen beim Bund, Brüderstraße 11/12 in Berlin.
“After the festival is before the festival,” stated the team of the Int’l Film Festival for Children & Young Audiences SCHLINGEL, so they started preparing the 28th edition straight away. This year, the festival will take place from 23-30 September in Chemnitz, European Capital of Culture 2025!
