ALL A-BOARD! An update on the ECFA Board’s activities

Following the Annual General Meeting held in Berlin (photos) this February, the ECFA Board has remained actively engaged in fulfilling the plans and priorities presented there – moving forward with a purpose! Find out more about the board’s current major strands of activity…

  1. Workshop Warehouse 2025

Preparations for the Workshop Warehouse 2025 (June 27 – 29 in Bologna, Italy) are in full swing. Organised by ECFA and Cineteca di Bologna, in collaboration with the Screen the Future European Children’s Film Festival Network and co-funded by the European Union, this edition will host over 60 participants from 20 countries. The schedule is almost finalised, the steering group members are working with the workshop instructors, and the confirmed participants will soon be asked to map out their programme. The list of selected workshops can be explored on the ECFA website, with photos and teaser videos. Thanks to Elisa Giovannelli and her team at Cineteca, the event’s production is in expert hands. Although we sadly had to decline some applicants due to budget and technical limits, ECFA is preparing thorough coverage to share the experience with a wider network.

  1. Code of Conduct

As discussed during the AGM, a dedicated working group has been established to draft a formal Code of Conduct for ECFA. This initiative stems from long-standing conversations around diversity, inclusion, and member collaboration. The group has started working with specialised professionals to ensure that the first version of the outline reflects not only the Association’s shared values but also the most up-to-date scientific and professional discourse that will help guide our collective work.

  1. Communication Strategy

A working group has been established to update a broader strategy for ECFA’s communication. This includes discussing the needs of the members and rethinking the communication formats and overall coherence across our channels. The aim is to better reflect our expanding community and sharpen our messaging in a rapidly evolving landscape. Since this work cannot be done without the members, be prepared to provide feedback that will be requested by the board as soon as the first round of work has been completed.
