Children’s and youth films deserve more than a festival premiere – they deserve the right partners to help them reach audiences. That’s precisely what the Just Film Works in Progress aims to offer.
As part of Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event, the industry programme of the Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF), Just Film has steadily grown into one of Europe’s most dynamic meeting places for professionals working in children’s and youth cinema. Alongside panel discussions, networking events and market activities, the Works in Progress showcase allows producers and directors to present projects that are still in production or post-production to an audience of festival programmers, sales agents, financiers and other industry professionals.
Eligible are feature fiction films, animation, and feature-length documentaries for children (7–12) and young audiences (13+). Selected projects will be presented during Just Film Industry Days in November and will also be available online to accredited professionals. A €1,000 Just Film WIP Award will support the winning project’s promotion and publicity efforts.
Submissions are expected to open on August 3rd and remain open until mid-September. If your children’s or youth film is approaching the finish line and is still looking for festival exposure or international partners, Tallinn may be the perfect next stop.
