Synopsis:
During their weekly visit to the school garden, students from the 7th Montessori primary school in Amsterdam learn all about the cycle of life. Seeds grow into flowers, worms die and enrich the soil. Meanwhile, at school they are confronted with the impending death of a young teacher. While rooting around in the earth, the children talk freely about life, death and saying goodbye.
