Synopsis:
It’s the day after the lost World Champion final in 1974. The suburb of Amsterdam has a big hangover and Jonas (12), loafing about, runs into Daan (13). Not a friend of his, but on this dull summer day they hang out together. Two boys with a different social background but soon enough with a shared interest in getting into contact with a third boy. German born Karsten is Jonas’ best friend. He owes Daan money, but what’s more is his sudden return from his holiday, to be questioned by the police. Does Karsten know more about the missing Catootje, who went missing five days ago. The boys start to search for Karsten and in the process spent a memorable day filled with joy and awkward moments. They stroll through their neighborhood, find an antique dish in a wasteland and see how police divers are dragging a nearby pond. Without avail. The mystery of the girl’s disappearance clouds the day. Will Catootje return?
