Synopsis:
Since his father left the family, Pear lives alone with his mother. Both have little to say to each other, and Pear therefore often escapes to the nearby military airbase, secretly watching the soldiers at their work. Pear dreams of one day being able to fly. Together with other boys, he has constructed a glider. One day Pear and three of his friends slip into their hiding place near the airbase where they find the belongings of some homeless bum. Disgusted by all this, they search through his dirty possessions, throwing away his socks and peeing into his waterbottle. The stranger is not to come around their hiding place again. A few hours later they have almost forgotten about the invader. When they try out Pear‘s glider, Pear crashes and is slightly injured. While a friendly soldier attends to the children and shows Pear how best to construct his glider, the bum appears in the distance and steals a bike from one of the boys. Angry, the boys set out in pursuit, this time equipped with smoke bombs. To scare away the stranger, the boys come up with increasingly harsh humiliations, until one of them realizes that they have gone too far.
