Schlingel Chemnitz: International Children’s Jury awards the Czech Fairytale “Crown Prince”

139In Chemnitz (Germany) a jury of 16 children from eight European countries awards the best film for children. This year the prize went to Karel Janák for his film “The Crown Prince” (Czech Republic, 2015).

(09.10.2016) As best child actor the children awarded Thinh Vinh Tran for his appearance in „Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass“, directed by Victor Vu (Vietnam, 2015). Exactly to this film the professionals’ jury gave the main award of the festival.

With the MDR special award the jury honoured “Come Along” by Igor Sterk (Slovenia, 2016), in the Junior category the jury’s award went to “Buffalo Rider” by Joel Soisson (USA & Thailand, 2015). The pupils decided to give their Junior Film Award to “Hunt for the Wilder People” by Taika Waititi (New Zealand, 2015).

The youth film competition won “My Name is Emily” by Simon Fitzmaurice (Ireland, 2015). Best animated film was “Long Way North” by Rémi Chayé, France & Denmark, 2015.

“The Children of Chance” by Malik Chibane (France, 2016) received the award of the ECFA Jury. The audience award went to “Jill and Joy’s Winter” by Saara Susanna Cantell (Finland, 2015).
