Directed by Jacques-Rémy Girerd, "Mia and the Migoo"(France/Italy, 2008) is the first film to win the newly created award "European Film Academy Animated Feature Film". The Award Ceremony took place in Bochum (Germany) this Saturday 12th December. The two other nominees in the category were "Niko & the Way to the Stars" by Michael Hegner and Kari Juusonen, and "The Secret of Kells" by Tomm Moore.
"Mia and the Migoo" (Mia et le Migou) tells the story of a young girl's journey in search of her father who is working at the building site of a luxury hotel in the middle of a hidden forest. Deep in the woods, she encounters the mysterious creature Migoo...
This second feature film by the director of "Raining Cats and Frogs" is a European co-production between France (Folimage, France 3 Cinéma, Rhône-Alpes Cinéma, Bayard Presse) and Italy (Enanimation, Gertie).
