New ECFA member: Athens International Children’s Film Festival

Athens welcomes its first Children’s Film Festival! The Athens International Children’s Film Festival (AΤΗICFF) aims to showcase, support and spread the creation of intelligent filmmaking for children and teenagers. The 1st Athens Int. Children’s Film Festival takes places from 7-9 December at the Athens Concert Hall and promises to engage, move and entertain young audiences and their families by offering a rich, fun and stimulating film programme.

The programme presents a varied collection of over 70 short and feature films, fiction and documentaries, for a 3-18 year old audience, representing more than 25 countries. Founder Calliope Charalambous Krief: “The festival will invite film creators from around the world to talk about their work and answer children’s questions. We include a special educational programme with school visits and film workshops, addressing pupils from primary and high school, alongside entertaining fun events, over the course of a three-day festival.”

How forward-looking can you get? Even before their very first edition was launched, the 1st Athens Int. Children’s Film Festival already signed up with ECFA as a proof of their eagerness for international networking and cooperation.
