Julia Fleißig is taking over the festival management at the LUCAS International Festival for Young Film Lovers, that will celebrate its 40th edition from 1 – 7 October 2017.
Julia Fleißig, former director of the ‘School Film Week’ in Hessen, is taking on the directorship of the film festival for children & young people, as successor to Cathy de Haan, who will continue to work alongside LUCAS in an advisory capacity.
With Fleißig, continuity at LUCAS is guaranteed. Recently LUCAS adopted a new look and profile, to which she will remain faithful: “We are showing the world’s best films for young audiences and invite children & teenagers to Frankfurt, to get involved as jury members or festival reporters, to take part in workshops, or to contribute to film talks. I am looking forward to welcoming filmmakers from all over the world, and to the unique dynamics that arise when filmmakers exchange ideas with children and young people.”
